Set comprising an oval sugar bowl on caprine feet, embossed and chased geometric and beaded ornament, the cover surmounted by a rose finial; accompanied by twelve tea spoons and sugar tongs, housed within the original shaped case of card, velvet and silk.
The sugar bowl bears the mark of silversmith Giovanni Battista Borrani, Turin 1824. The set was presented in 1877 by King Vittorio Emanuele III, as recorded on a note kept inside the sugar bowl.
