France, 19th century. Black lacquered papier-mâché, Rocaille taste, polychrome floral decoration and gilt ornament.
Details

Undulating lobed form, divided into ornamental reserves, typical of 19th-century decorative wares for the table. Small painted bouquets appear at the centre and along the sides, alternating with gilt cartouches and scrollwork on a dark ground.
