mportant baroque mirror of Sicilian manufacture, made in the mid-18th century. The elegant mixtilinear profile, typical of the Rococo style, is enriched by a rich carved and gilded wooden frame, animated by scrolls, flowers and leafy motifs executed with great mastery.
At the center is the main mirror, surrounded by hand-shaped and ground glass, finely decorated with floral and vegetal motif engravings, according to the Sicilian decorative use of the time. The cymatium is dominated by an architectural and floral pediment of great scenic impact, which frames the group of upper ground mirrors with theatrical taste.
The quality of the workmanship, the refinement of the design and the ornamental richness make this mirror a representative example of eighteenth-century Sicilian decorative art, perfectly suited to classic environments or refined contemporary combinations.
