This work reflects the influence of Oriental aesthetics on European decorative culture of the period. The delicate naturalistic motifs, rendered with remarkable precision and vivid colors, evoke exotic and refined atmospheres.

Ten similar panels, made from the same wallpaper, are located in the Chinese Apartment on the first floor of the Villa della Regina in Turin.
